Anqi Lu Viola
Violist Anqi Lu lives in Berlin and regularly performs as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician throughout Europe and Asia.
From 2018 to 2020, she was a member of the Bamberg Symphony. She subsequently served as Deputy Principal Viola of the Munich Symphony Orchestra from 2020 to 2023, before being appointed Principal Viola for the 2023/2024 season.
As a guest musician, she has performed with, among others, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Berlin Baroque Soloists, the Munich Philharmonic, and the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne.
Another major focus of her artistic work is chamber music. She has performed with musicians including Yo-Yo Ma, Ning Feng, Jens Peter Maintz, and Diyang Mei.
Anqi Lu received her musical training with Prof. Shaowu Wang at the Middle School Affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music and at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. In 2014, she continued her studies with Prof. Matthias Buchholz at the University of Music and Dance Cologne, where she completed a Master of Music as well as the Konzertexamen.
