His artistic activity includes solo concerts, chamber music and orchestral playing at an international level. He is a prizewinner of numerous international competitions and performs regularly in Germany and Europe. His teaching combines experience from professional orchestral work with intensive concert practice and is aimed at students preparing for a professional career as an orchestral musician, soloist or chamber musician.
Since 2022, flutist Jingyi Cao and oboist Boyi Ruan have formed the Berlin-based chamber music duo Beijing Floboe. The ensemble is dedicated to the rare combination of flute and oboe and combines classical repertoire with innovative concert formats.
Since 2024, both have been studying as the only woodwind duo in the Master’s programme in Chamber Music for Existing Ensembles at the Berlin University of the Arts with Prof. Vineta Sareika and Prof. Gregor Sigl. Beijing Floboe has performed at venues including the Berlin Philharmonie, was invited to the Elchinger Musiktage and has received awards at several international competitions, including 1st Prize at the 5th Swiss International Competition and 2nd Prize at the International Kuhlau Chamber Music Competition.
